New Cimarron Wine

Cimarron Vineyards at Rim Rock Ranch just bottled its first vintages of their favorite varietals, 2008 petite sirah and cabernet sauvignon.

Most of Cimarron’s grapes are sold to a notable and respected Napa Valley winery. The winemaker there was so impressed with the quality, he has chosen to make his own personal wine with Cimarron grapes. The winery’s enthusiasm about the quality of Cimarron grapes prompted the owners to bottle some for themselves and friends. Hence the birth of the Cimarron label. The owners also wanted to show potential land purchasers the quality of grapes that the gorgeous red, volcanic soil at various elevations can produce.

For those interested in planting vines of your own, the owners can recommend resources with which they have had success. Most parcels are suitable for hobby, or in some cases commercial vineyards. Some owners have already cleared space and are installing infrastructure for planting in spring.
